Edited by: Tercano Nuruva on 29/03/2007 01:11:54 I'm a relative noob and the capital guide was quite informative to me, but I am sure that information is common sense to those who deal with capitals frequently, so I don't think it mattered whether it was a CCP employee or not that wrote it (though I did think K should have removed the Coreli's pilot list etc and a few other select bits: that is irrelevant but sensitive tactical information).
CCP has made mistakes in the past, they have owned up to them and taken steps to ensure it does not happen again. IĈm sure a director position doesnĈt come cheap. As for t20, IĈm more interested in the why he felt the need to do it, not the event itself. IĈm also sure BoB wasnĈt too badly off before, so IĈm not fussed they got some free BPOs, even when (I will openly admit) I have found myself aligned against them (nothing personal, IĈm just in an alliance aligned against you, and as long as I can shoot stuff, who cares?).
In short on that aspect, I trust CCP to do the right thing if it occurs again (removal of the ill-gotten assets is enough).
In regards to CCP employee characters, K has a vendetta, but he has made his point and I feel he needs to stop. He did the right thing at first (the new measures are a good thing) but it is too much now. He is outing people who have most likely done nothing wrong out of spite, and I feel sorry for their loss (how would you feel if your main was suddenly taken from you etc).
Kieron has made some blunt comments (both in this thread and a few others) that people do not appreciate, and in some respect I do agree those people, but also I feel that is his style and that I would be similar if faced with all the constant flaming and ill-will found on these forums, so I ask for others to be just a little understanding.
Finally, someone made a post about getting them to restart and look at it from the bottom up instead of the top down. That is a little harsh, but the concept is sound. Getting the staff to create new characters and preventing access to the old ones for a few months would suffice for them to get the ĉnew-player experienceĈ, or some variation thereof. It would be interesting for them to see how well they can do, what they find easy / hard etc with characters that do not have all the skills they are used to, and things they would not normally do (like large mining ops in the new regions, that would be a laugh ;)).
In conclusion, I have faith in CCP, and I thank them for bringing this game into the world and for maintaining it. You have hit your first major publicity bump, but keep up the good work and donĈt let it get you down. You will recover soonÖ.
